2011 Resolutions

It’s the week after New Year’s—time to think about resolutions! Here are a few we could all stand to work on:

  • To be aware of the racial history influencing our lives
  • To learn about cultures and ethnic groups beyond our own
  • To be a model of fairness and civility to the young people in our lives
  • And, as always, to read more books—including ones that take us beyond our usual comfort zones.

What are your resolutions?

These are beautiful resolutions! I would only add, along with modeling fairness and civility for young people, be an example of hope and enthusiasm for life. Help them look forward to growing up, taking part, giving back, sharing a world of community, respect, and love that we can build together. Happy New Year!
